A video display for compensating for display defect is provided to improve image deterioration by compensating for a point defect and a set pattern defect in a vertical line and a horizontal line. A first memory stores first set pattern defect information for compensating for data displayed in a perpendicular line defect region of the display panel. A second memory stores second set pattern defect information for compensating for data displayed in the horizontal line defect region of the display panel. A perpendicular line compensation(70) compensates for data displayed in the perpendicular line defect region by using the first set pattern defect information from the first memory. A horizontal line compensation unit(80) compensates for data displayed in the horizontal line defect region. A first compensation unit includes a multiplexer selecting the output of the perpendicular line compensation unit or the horizontal line compensation unit. The second compensation unit(160) disperses data compensated in the first compensation unit spatially and timely by using a frame rate control dithering. The third compensation unit(170) compensates for data displayed in the point defect region of the display panel. A driving unit supplies the data compensated by the first and second compensation unit to the display panel. |
