PURPOSE: A communication method using a virtual object and a communication system are provided to reproduce the motion of a transmitter by enabling a receiver to user an index value. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting device receives an image including the motion of a transmitter(210). The transmitting device extracts the silhouette of the transmitter by separating a background image from an inputted image(220). The transmitting device estimates an index of a pose corresponding to the motion of the transmitter by selecting a pose similar with the extracted silhouette from a test image by using a stored data structure(230). The transmitting device transmits a message including the index of the estimated pose to a receiver(240).
