The invention provides a crystalline anhydrate of tiotropium bromide, a method for producing said anhydrate and the use thereof for producing a medicament for the treatment of respiratory tract diseases, in particular, for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. In a method embodiment, the crystalline anhydrate is obtained from the monohydrate of tiotropium bromide.
