PURPOSE: A smart device having a danger preventing function and a danger preventing method using the same are provided to prevent a user from having an accident by changing the volume level of sounds when the user is walking and is listening to the sounds from the smart device. CONSTITUTION: If a measured moving speed exceeds a predetermined speed, a user walking state checking module (18d) determines that a user is riding in a specific vehicle. The user walking state checking module directs a location checking module to continuously check the location of a corresponding smart device. A dangerous region recognizing module (18e) checks whether the corresponding smart device is located in a dangerous region based on location information obtained by the location checking module and geographic information stored in a geographic information storage unit. A control module (18f) generates a control command for changing the volume level of sounds which a user is listening to if the corresponding smart device is located in the dangerous region based on a result checked through the dangerous region recognizing module.
