782,043. Leg-rests for chairs. SCHULTZ, G., and LAHAY, H. C. Nov. 18, 1955, No. 33109/55. Class 52(2) In a chair, e.g. a transversely-folding invalid's wheeled chair, a leg-rest frame 15 is pivoted at 19 to a clamp 24 adjustably engaging the chair frame and is locked in angularly adjusted position by tightening a screw 42 which draws a toothed member 33 into engagement with the teeth 31 on a extension 22 of the clamp 24. The frame carries a reversible and longitudinally adjustable legrest plate 43 and is U-shaped, the longer leg 16 carrying the clamp. It can be fixed to either side of the chair frame. When the chair is folded, the frame 15 can be swung over to embrace the handles 2<SP>1</SP> and hold the chair in folded condition. |
