PURPOSE: A device for inspecting cracks on the surface of a gear rim and an inspection method are provided to accurately and rapidly inspect the cracks on the surface of the gear rim. CONSTITUTION: A device for inspecting cracks on the surface of a gear rim comprises a mounting jig(110), a rotating member(120), a photographing member(130), a lighting member(140), a discharging member, and an inspection controller(160). The mounting jig is connected to a connection member included in the gear rim, thereby making the gear rim to be placed in a constant position. The rotating member rotates the mounting jig. The photographing member photographs images of a lateral recessed groove portion and a lateral protruded portion included in the gear rim. The lighting member irradiates lights to the gear rim so that the photographing member photographs images smoothly. The discharging member discharges the gear rim from the mounting jig after the inspection is completed. |
