PURPOSE: A composition containing a material which suppresses Ahnak gene expression is provided to effectively prevent or treat obesity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating obesity contains a material which suppresses Ahnak gene expression. The material is an antisense oligonucleotide, siRNA, or aptamer. The composition additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A food composition for treating obesity contains the composition. A method for screening a therapeutic agent for obesity comprises: a step of treating a subject suspicious for obesity with a candidate material for treating obesity; and a step of comparing mRNA or protein expression level of a control group and Ahnak gene. |
