PURPOSE: A tilting or telescopic steering device for a vehicle is provided to enable a steering device to be fixed since a movable gear is engaged with a fixed gear even under overrun. CONSTITUTION: A tilting or telescopic steering device for a vehicle comprises a fixed gear(310) and a movable gear(320). For the fixed gear, the heights of the outermost mountains of both ends are higher than that of a neighboring mountain. If an adjusting lever operates, the outermost mountain of the movable gear makes contact with the outer slope(315) of the outermost valley of the fixed gear. The movable gear is engaged with the fixed gear while slipping. |
