PURPOSE: Display device and energy-saving method thereof are provided to minimize power consumption by cutting off operational power of a video processor when advancing to an energy-saving mode by applying sub-control unit and input switch. CONSTITUTION: A display panel (130) performs image display. A video processor (120) signal-processes an image signal inputted from the outside. A control unit displays the signal-processed image signal through a display panel. A sub-control unit (150) receives a clock signal according to existence of an image signal inputted from the outside. A power supply unit (140) cuts off power selectively supplied to the video processor and display panel according to existence of the clock signal.
