The present invention describes a process with a plurality of steps for the obtention of aluminum chloride and polymeric salts derived therefrom, such as: aluminum polychloride, aluminum chlorhydroxide and aluminum sesquichlorohydrate with a wide range of basicities and concentrations, which are widely used in the industry for treating water and in the cosmetic industry. This technology has the advantage of partially replacing the source of metallic aluminum with the use of alternate raw materials such as: hydrated aluminum oxide or aluminum hydroxide, such as: hydrargillite, bayerite, gibbsite, boehmite and diaspore, the use of a catalyst derived from a halogen such as an acid or a salt, also saving in the additional application of heat and pressure, being a process which does not require any type of fuel, which generates an environmentally friendly process with no emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
