The control unit has a handle (3) pivotally mounted around a rotation axis (5) for its operation. A blocking unit (9) is placed according to an immobilization position of the handle to prohibit its swiveling or a releasing position for authorizing the swiveling. The blocking unit includes a latch with a mobile bar and a lock with a bolt (11). The bolt or the bar is movable between the immobilization- and releasing positions of the handle according to a rotation axis (13) of the bolt or the bar. The lock provides a barrel (15) dependant in rotation with the bolt. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
