PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to efficiently indicate information about the displayed contents. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (180) obtains first touch input. The control unit displays information about contents displayed on the display device while maintaining the first touch input. The control unit displays the related information. If the first touch input is released, the control unit controls the display device to disappear the displayed information. In case at least one of touch input continued for longer than set time and touch input moves farther than set distance is obtained, the control unit displays the related information. If the first touch input is released, the control unit controls the display device in order not to disappear the related information displayed on the display device.
