PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to form a separating unit which does not contact with a bare cell on the lower side of an upper case when fixing the bare cell and the upper case using a coupling member, to enhance coupling force. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery includes: a protective circuit module (20) which comprises an electrode assembly and is electrically connected to a bare cell (10) with fixing grooves on both upper sides; and an upper case (30) including a coupling hole (50) on a position corresponding to the fixing grooves, and surrounding the protective circuit module. The secondary battery additionally includes an adhering unit touching the upper surface of the bare cell on the lower side of the upper case, and a separating unit (31) separated from the upper surface of the bare cell to the predetermined interval.
