The system (100) has an input (101) for receiving a low voltage alternating current. An N-number of voltage conversion modules (1) is coupled to the input, where each voltage conversion module is electrically connected in series. A transformer (11) is utilized for converting the low voltage alternating current to high voltage alternating current. A set of input terminals (131, 132, 141, 142) is mounted in parallel with the transformer. A multiplying stage (15) includes a single diode (151) and a set of condensers (152), where N is an even number ranging between 4 and 24. The high voltage alternating current is in the range of 300 volts to 5000 volts. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for production of X-rays (2) a case.
