PURPOSE: A white glass tube for a cover of a straight tube LED lamp and a manufacturing method of glass for the same are provided to be based on a glass composition comprising predetermined oxides, thereby diffusing straight LED light and preventing the occurrence of a glaring phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: Glass melt for a white glass tube (1) comprises 55-75 weight% of SiO2, 1-10 weight% of Na2O, 0.1-5 weight% of Na2O, 0.1-5 weight% of K2O, 0-10 weight% of BaO, 0-3 weight% of SrO, 0.5-2 weight% of Al2O3, 0.5-5 weight% of CaO, 1-5 weight% of P2O5, 0.1-17 weight% of B2O3, 0-5 weight% of MgO, 0-2 weight% of TiO2, 0-1 weight% of CeO2, 0-1 weight% of As2O3, 0.01-1 weight% of Fe2O3, 0-1 weight% of Sb2O3, 0-2 weight% of CeO2, 0-3 weight% of SnO2, 0-2 weight% of TiO2, 0-3 weight% of ZrO2, and 0-3 weight% of ZnO.
