A skin external applying composition comprising alpha-keto acid is provided to prevent the keto form of the alpha-keto acid from being converted into a diol form by adjusting a pH thereof more than 6, thereby maximizing the stability of the alpha-keto acid. A skin external applying composition comprises alpha-keto acid stabilized by adding a pH adjusting agent thereto to have a pH of more than 6, wherein the alpha-keto acid is selected from the group consisting of alpha-ketoglutaric acid, oxaloacetic acid, alpha-ketobutyric acid and pyruvic acid. |
