PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of low external light extraction efficiency caused because there is still a large difference between refraction factors of counter electrodes or a moisture barrier layer (passivation film) such as SiN provided on the counter electrodes and a refraction factor of an atmosphere; and solve a problem of deterioration in reliability and reduction in life duration.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element of an embodiment comprises pixel electrodes, an electroluminescent layer, a transparent electrode, a passivation film, a stress relaxation layer and a low refraction factor layer, which are laminated. The stress relaxation layer has a function of preventing film peeling of the passivation film. The low refraction factor layer has a function of reducing reflectivity when light radiated from the electroluminescent layer is incident upon an atmosphere. Because of this, a light-emitting element having high reliability and long life duration, and a display device using the light-emitting element can be provided. |
