PLANAR LINE WAVEGUIDE CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar line waveguide converter which widens a band width compared to conventional planar line waveguide converters thereby improving the manufacturing yield.SOLUTION: A planar line waveguide converter is composed of: a dielectric substrate 10 having a first surface closing a rectangular opening 21 of a waveguide block 2; a main matching element 6 and a sub matching element 7 which are formed in the opening 21 on the first surface of the dielectric substrate 10; a shorting bar 3 formed on a second surface of the dielectric substrate 10; and a microstrip line (MSL) 4 which is formed on the second surface of the dielectric substrate 10 and extends in a notch 3a of the shorting bar 3 so as to face the main matching element 6. The sub matching element 7 is disposed between a short side of the opening 21 of the waveguide block 2 and the main matching element 6. Lengths of the main matching element 6 and the sub matching element 7 differ from each other in a direction parallel with the short side of the opening 21.
