PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a longer lifetime of a light-emitting element in an organic EL light-emitting element lighting device in which a resistance value is reduced and a lifetime is reduced by heating.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element lighting device for lighting an organic EL light-emitting element, includes a temperature detection unit for detecting an ambient temperature of the light-emitting element, and a current control unit for controlling a current flowing in the light-emitting element to be constant. The current control unit, when the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit is less than an upper limit value obtained by adding a predetermined temperature to a reference temperature when the light-emitting element is stably lighting, flows a reference current value in the light-emitting element, and when the detected temperature exceeds the upper limit value (Yes at #8), flows a protective current having a value less than the reference current value and reducing the ambient temperature in the light-emitting element (#9-#11) until the detected temperature becomes not more than the reference temperature (No at #12.) This control can prevent overheating of the organic EL light-emitting element to achieve a longer lifetime. |
