PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from making unnecessary action due to occurrence of a stripe pattern and to improve operability of a device.SOLUTION: A compound machine A reads an image of an original which an ADF (Automatic document feeder) 20 automatically feeds and detects a stripe pattern (black stripe) extending in a sub-scanning direction of the read image, which occurs due to adhesion of foreign matters to a first platen glass. The compound machine includes an operation control section 6 which compares positions of the black stripe detected during reading of the original consisting of a plurality of sheets with the black stripe detected in the original which is read last, displays the image of guidance for promoting cleaning of the first platen glass on a touch panel 12 when a difference of the positions is less than a prescribed threshold, and displays an image for giving information on detection of the black stripe on the touch panel 12 when the difference of the positions exceeds the prescribed threshold. |
