The cell (10) has sintered metal particles comprising a back metal electrode structure (16) arranged on a passivation layer (14). A semiconductor material of a semiconductor wafer (12) is in electrical contact via multiple local contact regions (19). The contact regions are formed as openings in the passivation layer, where an electrical contact surface is 2 percent less than a back surface. A protective layer (18) is formed on the back metal electrode structure and constructed as layer stacks. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing of a semiconductor wafer solar cell.
