The method involves introducing work piece retainer for subsequent treatment. The contact sides (6-8) of blank retainer (2-4) are calibrated with respect to calibrating stamp. The calibrated portion is utilized for work piece retainer for the subsequent treatment. The calibrated region is larger than contact region of the work piece retainer. The calibrated portion is formed by applying static or dynamic force to the contact side of the retainer. An independent claim is included for device for manufacturing blank retainer.
