摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an end timing for an activation treatment of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell.SOLUTION: In an activation method of a fuel cell, a potential sweep is performed in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell 12 to obtain a cyclic voltammogram. An end timing of the activation treatment may be any one of the followings: (a) a point of time when the number of peaks within the range from 0.1 to 0.3 V increased from one to two, and I1/I3≥1.2 and I2/I3≥1.2 where I1 and I2 are the current values of the two peaks, and I3 is a minimum current value between the two peaks; (b) a point of time when the amount of charge of an oxidation peak within the range from 0.4 to 0.7 V becomes 20 mC or less; and (c) I5/I4 becomes from below 1 to 1 where I4 is current value of a reduction peak within the range from 0.6 to 0.7 V, and I5 is current value of the reduction peak within the range from 0.7 to 0.8 V. The end timing may be the combination of (a) and (b), or the combination of (a) to (c).
