PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush motor that has improved insulation against brush powder.SOLUTION: A brush motor 1 includes: a commutator 9 that is fixed to a shaft 3; a pair of brushes 5 and 6 that are in sliding contact with a circumferential surface of the commutator 9; and brush powder storage sections 33a, 33b, 37a, and 37b that store therein brush powder due to the sliding contact between the brushes 5 and 6 and the commutator 9. Each of the brush powder storage sections 33a, 33b, 37a, and 37b has: an inlet through which air generated by the shaft 3 is introduced; an accumulation chamber which communicates with the inlet and in which the brush powder contained in the air is accumulated; and an outlet which communicates with the accumulation chamber and through which the air is discharged from the accumulation chamber. The brush powder storage sections 33a, 33b, 37a, and 37b are disposed on two respective sides of the commutator 9 in a direction of the circumferential surface thereof. The inlet of each brush powder storage section is formed in a tangential direction of the circumferential surface of the commutator 9 on which the brushes 5 and 6 are in sliding contact with the commutator 9. |
