摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical waveguide capable of forming a metal layer where loss in light reflection is reduced, on a slant surface.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an optical waveguide 10 comprises: a slant surface forming step of forming a long-sized core part 11 and an auxiliary part 13 arranged at a predetermined interval in a width direction of the core part 11 on the surface of a first clad layer 12 and forming a slant surface 11a for reflecting light in the core part 11; a metal layer forming step of forming a metal layer by a transfer method on the slant surface 11a; and a clad layer forming step of forming a clad layer covering the core part 11 by forming a second clad layer so that the core part 11 and the auxiliary part 13 formed on the first clad layer 12 are embedded. The slant surface forming step forms the slant surface 11a in the core part 11 and performs processing so that one end surface 13a of the auxiliary part 13 is positioned to be adjacent to the slant surface 11a.
