A TOUCH SENSING APPARATUS AND A TOUCH GESTURE DETECTION METHOD

PURPOSE: A touch sensing device and a touch gesture recognition method are provided to apply an existing touch screen pattern type, thereby accurately recognizing horizontal/vertical movement gestures. CONSTITUTION: A touch input unit (401) includes a pattern type which comprises the areas for recognizing touch input. A touch input detection unit (403) detects the touch input by recognizing the coordinate of a bundle bar pattern. The bundle bar pattern is a set of adjacent areas among the areas included in the pattern type. An area of the pattern type has the coordinate for recognizing the touch input. The touch input detection unit calculates the average value of the coordinates of the adjacent areas and recognizes the coordinate of the bundle bar pattern. A calculation unit (405) calculates the movement direction and the speed of the coordinate of the bundle bar pattern.
