<p>A more compact power converter is provided by lowering the impedance of a main circuit connecting power semiconductor elements for switching to smoothing capacitors (8), and by improving the current balance between parallel circuits of the power semiconductor elements for switching in each phase. Two switching elements are connected in series, three semiconductor module units (5) having a positive electrode terminal, negative electrode terminal, and alternating current terminal are connected in parallel to form a semiconductor module (50) for a single phase, and an opposing smoothing capacitor unit (8) is brought into contact with the terminals (2), (3), (6), (7) of each semiconductor module unit (5) and fastened directly using a bolt and nut via a threaded hole (11) to form a single phase. A three-phase power converter is constructed using three of these assemblies.</p> |
