PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit fraudulent counting of game media by a fraudulent tool in a game machine.SOLUTION: A light projection part 111 projects light detected by a light receiving part 114 at prescribed time intervals. A light emitting part 112 emits light at different timing than the prescribed time intervals. A pathway 26 lets a disc-shaped object pass while shading light paths of the light projection part 111 and the light receiving part 114. Passage of the disc-shaped object is detected by a passage detection part 115 based on whether the light is detected by the light receiving part 114 at the same timing as the prescribed time intervals of emission of light from the light projection part 111. This invention is applicable to a game machine.
