The method involves collimating an X-ray radiation such that a central portion of detector elements of a flat X-ray detector is utilized for receiving an image data (2). Another portion is located at an edge of the detector elements to receive scattered radiation data (4) such that the scattering radiation data corrects the image data. The central portion of the detector elements is surrounded by the latter portion forming a closed edge surface. Scattered radiation correction values (17) are determined by one-dimensional or two-dimensional interpolation of the radiation data. An independent claim is also included for an X-ray device.
