PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong lifetime of a fuel filter without causing any clogging of the fuel filter 1 in an early stage even when using fuel containing much foreign matters.SOLUTION: In the fuel filter 1, a first element 2 deposits large foreign matters 6 as a cake 7, and settles the deposited cake 7 in a settling area 25 according to gravity. Further, a second element 3 captures minute foreign matters 8 passing through the first element 2. Thus, the cake 7 deposited on the first element 2 is easily separated from the first element 2 due to the self weight or the like, and settled. The first element 2 can easily remove large foreign matters 6, and suppresses the degradation with time of the removing capacity of large foreign matters 6. Thus, the first element can suppress an increase with time of the foreign matter removing load of the second element 3. Consequently, the lifetime of the fuel filter can be prolonged without causing any clogging of the fuel filter 1 in the early stage. |
