The aim of the invention is to gasify solid fuel particles in a fluidized bed as completely as possible despite their weight and volume which decrease in the process. According to the invention, two fluidized beds (1, 2) are arranged one above the other, the fluidization medium having a slower flow rate in the upper fluidized bed (2) than in the lower fluidized bed (1) in accordance with the smaller volume and weight of the solid fuel particles. Said aim can be achieved very easily in that the cross section (15) of the upper fluidized bed (2) is larger than the cross section (16) of the lower fluidized bed (1), so that nevertheless both fluidized beds (1, 2) can be flown through by one and the same fluidization medium (11), and the same bed material can be also used in a circulating manner between both fluidized beds (1, 2). |
