PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a light emitting device package are provided to efficiently block overflowed electrons which are injected with a p-type by forming an electron blocking layer on an active layer. CONSTITUTION: A current spreading layer (122) is formed on a first conductive semiconductor layer (112). An electron injection layer (124) is formed on the current spreading layer. An active layer (114) is formed on the electron injection layer. An electron block layer (126) is formed on the active layer. A second conductive semiconductor layer (116) is formed on the electron block layer.
