PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical material which is excellent in cell adhesion and is capable of activating a signal transmission system.SOLUTION: The medical material is formed by forming a film on the surface of a base material, the film comprises peptide or protein including a cell adhesive array area and a silk-derived array area, and the silk-derived array area forms an antiparallel &bgr; sheet structure in a solid state.
