Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communication, and provide a method, terminal and Radio Network Controller (RNC) for cell selection, used for cell selection for different User Equipments (UEs) under data transmission enhancing function. The cell selection method comprises: a terminal sends indication information of data transmission enhancing function to an RNC after initiating data transmission enhancing function and detecting that an activating process of Packet Data Protocol (PDP) has been completed by a first UE and core network; the terminal or the RNC acquires cell information of the first UE, adjacent cell information of the first UE, and network connection capacity information of a second UE, and the terminal or the RNC selects a cell for the second UE based on the acquired cell information of the first UE, adjacent cell information of the first UE, and network connection capacity information of the second UE; and the terminal instructs the second UE to access the cell of the second UE and accordingly establishes a data transmission channel between the RNC and the terminal. |
