PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively culturing an immunostimulating compound-containing organism with experience in being eaten without the necessity of using an animal-derived component.SOLUTION: An acetic acid bacterium, a gluconic acid bacterium, a Xanthomonas bacterium, a Zymomonas bacterium or an Enterobacter bacterium, which is an edible Gram-negative bacterium with an immunostimulating ability, is cultured by use of a culture liquid containing flour or bean curd refuse as a main ingredient. According to this, the acetic acid bacterium or the like can be obtained inexpensively and safely, and a low molecular weight lipopolysaccharide which is an immunostimulating compound can be consequently obtained inexpensively and safely. Further, there is no problem of contamination thereof with animal-derived impurity.
