A disc roll comprising a shaft and a plurality of disc members loaded onto the shaft; the loaded disc members are fired, the density of the loaded disc members is greater than 1.20 g/cm3 and equal to or less than 1.50 g/cm3, and the disc members contain 20 to 50 wt% of ceramic fibers, 5 to 30 wt% of kibushi clay, 2 to 20 wt% of bentonite, and 20 to 45 wt% of a filler selected from mica, alumina, wollastonite, cordierite, and fired kaolin.
