The turntable regulator (12) has a controller housing (16) that is arranged below a cover (15). A pivot axis (17) is projected above the controller housing and is inserted through a recess (29) in the cover. A nut (21) is provided on the pivot axis at the top of the cover for fixing the regulator housing. A seal (13) is mounted on the pivot axis to seal a circumferential gap between the pivot axis and an inner surface (22) of the nut. An independent claim is included for a cooking appliance.
