- 53 A gravity gradiometer for measuring a component of the gravity gradient tensor and method for doing the same are 5 disclosed. The gradiometer has at least two pair of measurement bars 41, 43 and a processor 800. The processor 800 processes the difference between components measured by the first pair of bars 41, 43 and the difference between the components measured by the second 10 pair of bars 41, 43 to provide a measure of a required component of the gravity gradient tensor at individual points of a survey area.
