PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leveler control device and a leveler control method, which can efficiently level coal charged into a carbonization chamber within an operation hour of coal charging.SOLUTION: A control unit performs control for: extruding a tip end part of the leveler toward predetermined stop position P1 near opposite furnace covers in the carbonization chamber from the insertion position P0 of the leveler at the start of insertion of the leveler; pulling back the tip end part of the leveler to the insertion position P0 from the predetermined stop position P1 at the completion of insertion of the leveler; and reciprocating the tip end part of the leveler predetermined number of times between the predetermined stop position P1 and a turn back position P2 set between the predetermined stop position P1 and the insertion position P0, during a period from the start of the insertion of the leveler to the completion of the insertion of the leveler. |
