PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical implant assembly having at least a first bone mounting structure and a second bone mounting structure exhibiting an adequate fatigue strength to provide stabilization and protected motion of a spine, without fusion and cooperating with extended longitudinal connecting members.SOLUTION: The medical implant assembly is characterized in such that the connecting member 1 includes at least one transition portion 8 at least partially disposed between the first bone attachment structure and the second bone attachment structure, the transition portion 8 has a rigid segment 6 attached to the first bone attachment structure and an elastomer member 7 fixed to the end of the rigid segment 6 with each other, the elastomer member 7 cooperates with the second bone attachment structure so as to provide motion between the elastomer member 7 and the second bone attachment structure, and the connecting member 1 has an outer sleeve that can be compressed for engaging with the transition portion 8 and the outer sleeve is positioned between the first bone attachment structure and the second bone attachment structure and provides a support surrounding the elastomer member 7. |
