摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery capable of increasing adhesion between a gas diffusion layer and a catalyst layer to decrease contact resistance and to ensure drainage.SOLUTION: A fuel battery 1 includes: catalyst layers 11 which are arranged on both surfaces of an electrolyte membrane 10; and gas diffusion layers 13 which are arranged outside the catalyst layers 11. Openings are formed on a surface of the gas diffusion layer 13 in contact with the catalyst layer 11. The surface of the gas diffusion layer 13 is capable of conforming to the surface shape of the catalyst layer 11, and an opening ratio of the surface of the gas diffusion layer 13 is 0.25% or more after the surface conforming. A surface layer 21 of the gas diffusion layer 13 is formed by applying an MPL paste of which viscosity is 1700 mPa or more on the gas diffusion layer.
