PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter that can maintain such a state that a pinion and a ring gear are engaged with each other when an engine is stopped without providing a plunger stopper or the like using a solenoid.SOLUTION: Such a state that the pinion and the ring gear are engaged with each other is maintained while the engine is stopped by movement resistance produced when a power transmission body is moved. Specifically, the inclination angle of a helical spline on a helical spline engagement part disposed on the outer circumference of an output shaft of a starter motor and the inner circumference of the power transmission body is set to an angle enough to maintain such the state that the pinion and the ring gear are engaged with each other when the engine is stopped. As a result, such a state that the pinion and the ring gear are engaged with each other can be maintained, when the engine is stopped without providing the plunger stopper or the like using the solenoid. |
