This vehicle control device performs a first control for gradually increasing the drive force outputted to a drive wheel when, after an operation is performed for stopping the drive power source during travel of the vehicle, an accelerator is on during restarting of the drive power source in a travel-position state before travel of the vehicle stops, and performs a second control for increasing the drive power outputted to the drive wheel when, after an operation is performed for stopping the drive power source during travel of the vehicle, the drive power source is restarted in a neutral-position state before travel of the vehicle stops, and the accelerator is on during switching to the travel position. The amount by which the drive power is increased by the first control is less than the amount by which the drive power is increased by the second control. |
