PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technique which is capable of improving workability of a blade base pushing-in operation and of easily and reliably eliminating backlash when housing the blade base in a housing case, with respect to an optical fiber cutter.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cutter 10 includes a blade base 22 having a blade member 21 attached thereto which can be pushed from an initial position where the blade base 22 projects out of an outer case 24, to a cutting preparation position where a front end of the blade base is substantially level with a device body outer surface or projects with a smaller projection amount than in the initial position, against elastic urging force of a blade base moving spring. In a case incorporating an optical fiber cutter, the blade base projecting to the front side of the optical fiber cutter with a larger projection amount than in the cutting preparation position and a device body rear end are held between pressure receiving walls of a housing case by the elastic urging force of the blade base moving spring, in the housing case. |
