PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that has a configuration capable of suppressing the occurrence of leakage in transfer using a vibration electric field.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 10, a transfer electric field for transferring a toner image on an image carrier 31 onto a recording medium P is formed by a vibration electric field capable of transferring a toner in the toner image on the image carrier 31 toward the recording medium P; and the intensity of the vibration electric field can be changed, and the transfer rate for transferring the toner image on the image carrier onto the recording medium P can be changed. The maximum transfer rate when the vibration electric field is strong is made slower than the maximum transfer rate when the vibration electric field is weak. |
