PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize soft switching under wider operating conditions than before, without incorporating a snubber diode.SOLUTION: A bidirectional chopper circuit includes a switch control unit which, for a while during boost or step-down before a first switch (during boost: a boost switch 13; during step-down: a step-down switch 14) turns on at a point of time when the voltage of a first capacitor (during boost: a first snubber capacitor 18; during step-down: a second snubber capacitor 19) becomes minimum after an auxiliary switch (during boost: a first auxiliary switch 17a; during step-down: a second auxiliary switch 17b) is turned on, turns on a second switch (during boost: the step-down switch 14; during step-down: the boost switch 13) until energy for supplying an inverse polarity charge equal to or greater than a charge stored in a first capacitor to a second capacitor (during boost: the second snubber capacitor 19; during step-down: the first snubber capacitor 18) is stored in an auxiliary reactor 16. |
