PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems of a conventional air conditioner that, upon starting by a timer or a home controller, an air blowing vane is oriented downward or an air volume of a fan is controlled to be large, thus giving discomfort to a person present in a room, and if a system of detecting the absence of a person with an infrared sensor is to be employed, it is necessary to mount an expensive infrared sensor in the machine, thus resulting in higher cost.SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided which includes: a temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of a heat exchanger or a temperature of sucked air; a control device 20 variably controlling an orientation of an air blowing vane of an indoor unit or a wind speed or an air volume of a blower fan; and a remote controller 21 for remotely controlling the operation of the indoor unit. The control device 20 sets two temperature ranges discriminated from each other based on a temperature set by the remote controller 21; and during a heating operation, the control device sets at least an orientation of the air blowing vane into a horizontal or downward direction based on the two set temperature ranges and the temperature of the heat exchanger or the temperature of the sucked air. |
