The left-running Stirling process based heating and air conditioning apparatus has linear motors (3,4) for driving power piston (1), displacement piston (2) and crank mechanism. The phase position between the working piston and the displacement piston is adjusted freely. The two separate compression and expansion spaces (18,19) are ventilated using power piston and displacement piston to form separate heat pump elements.
