The heat exchanger (1) comprises a flow channel (3) for a heat exchange medium, and a heat exchanger body (2), which has a contact surface (20) for substantially receiving a slab. The heat exchanger body is formed as a solid plate, in which the flow channel is introduced. The flow channel is formed as a deep-hole bore or as milled structure by shaping or casting in the solid plate. The solid plate has an upper surface (200) and a lower surface (210), between which the flow channel is inserted. An independent claim is included for a method for receiving heat from slabs.
