PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load of a user imposed on the expiration date of an electronic ticket which can be updated.SOLUTION: The electronic ticket update device updates a valid period of an electronic ticket capable of updating the valid period, stored in a recording medium for storing the electronic ticket and electronic money to be used for payment when the electronic ticket is not valid. The electronic ticket update device includes: a specification section for comparing payment information on the electronic money acquired from a storage section with service usable from the electronic ticket and specifying payment which is not generated if the electronic ticket is valid of payments which are generated up to the present after expiration of the valid period before updating the electronic ticket; and a calculation section for performing processing for reducing at least a part of amount to be paid of the payment specified by the specification section by making a start time of a valid period after the update retroactive.
